The supreme governing body of African Union University - AUU International is the Governing Council and, subject to the AUU International Charter, the Statutes of the University and the Law of the Realm, the Governing Council has absolute power within the University, including the power over the governance and control of the finances of the University and of the good order, practical affairs, business and work of the University. The Governing Council appoints the University’s principal officers, deans and professors. Decisions of special importance for the long-term future of the University have to be approved by the Governing Council. The Governing Council operates through a Committee System led by the Founders of the University which includes, Professor Ehi Eric Esoimeme Esq. (AUUI President/Director General), Mr. Marcellin Gomez (AUUI Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer), Mr. Jannot Bandou (AUUI Director of Operations) and Paul Allieu Kamara (Regional Director, West Africa).
