AUU International (African Union University International) fosters a network of partner universities, including but not limited to Global Interfaith University, Daaru Salaam University, and the University of Management (TISBI). They collaborate on joint programs and accreditations, working with national bodies like the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, National Council for Technical and Vocational Education of Sierra Leone, Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and international bodies such as the Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM) to offer accredited courses across Africa and beyond, focusing on advanced education and research.

Procedural Steps for Becoming an Affiliate Member of AUUI

2. AUUI reviews your application within two to three weeks.
3. AUUI calls for a meeting where clarity is needed.
4. AUUI communicates its decision and requests for payment for the membership fee within ten days.

Benefits of Affiliate membership from AUU International
1. Institutional Capacity Building: AUU International will host series of capacity-building workshops with its Consortium to enhance your Institution's understanding and best practice on scientific research, writing and publishing and the use of open access data and analytics on institutional benchmarking and performance. These workshops will further expound their knowledge on the academic publishing industry, the importance of Open Access in publishing, the Science of Citation Practice, How Impact Factor works, the visibility of research using ResearchGate, ORCID & Publons, the process of writing an academic paper, the scientific editing process and the journal selection process. Affiliate Members of AUUI will get access to these services free with only the need to pay the Certificate fee. However, Premium members will not need to pay fees for digital Certificates.
2. AUUI and its Consortium will work closely with affiliate members on research mentorship programmes that supports the entire research lifecycle process of Higher Education. These programmes will improve the research output and visibility of the Accredited Universities and provide better understanding and best practice on Data Collection tools, Research Ethics, Collaboration Tools, Reference Management Tools, the theory and practice of presenting data in graphical form, How to design effective graphs, How to use R Statistical software graphical analysis and presentation, How to use SPSS Statistical software graphical analysis and presentation, How to use STATA Statistical software graphical analysis and presentation, and Proposal writing and thesis defence. During this mentorship programme, a dedicated mentor will be assigned to each participant to provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback throughout their time in the programme. The mentor will help participants navigate challenges and make the most of their experience. Affiliate Members of AUUI will get access to these services free with only the need to pay the Certificate fee. However, Premium members will not need to pay fees for digital Certificates.
3. Resource Mobilization and Grants Management. AUUI will work closely with its Consortium to host series of workshops, and provide advisory services on Resource Mobilization and Grants Management. The workshops will focus on the proposal and funding process; Typical structure of a proposal; Stages of developing a proposal; How to write a proposal; Usual pitfalls when writing a proposal; Methods, Expected Results, Budget and Timelines; Criteria for reviewing a research proposal; Revising the research proposal; Managing a research grant; and Using Artificial Intelligence in donor mapping and resource mobilization. process. Provided that the cost of this initiative will be extensively discussed and agreed upon between AUU International and the Accredited institution before the commencement of the programme.
4. Collaborative Research Initiatives. AUUI agrees to foster collaborative research initiatives between faculty members and research centers at both institutions to advance scientific knowledge, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. This arrangement will allow the students from AUUI Member Institutions to have the opportunity to work on ongoing research projects, assisting senior researchers in their work. This involvement will further allow them to build expertise and contribute to the advancement of knowledge within their respective fields. process. Provided that the cost of this initiative will be extensively discussed and agreed upon between AUU International and the institution before the commencement of the programme.
5. Networking Opportunities: AUUI agrees to establish a Networking Programme that will allow early career researchers and seasoned researchers to engage with professionals and researchers within its Affiliate membership networks and beyond to facilitate networking opportunities, enabling participants to expand their professional network and establish valuable connections for their future careers.
6. Job Opportunities and Skill Development: Party B and its Consortium agree with Party A to establish a Work Study programme that places students in a competitive environment where they profit from salary earnings gains. Provided that the commencement of this programme and its sustenance will depend on availability of job placements and the qualifications and expertise of the applicants.
7. Training and Skill Development: AUUI agrees to provide the leadership team and other Staff of its Affiliate Members with access to relevant training sessions and workshops to further develop their research skills, project management abilities, and other crucial competencies.
8. Collaborative Academic Programmes. AUUI and its Consortium agree to work closely with its Affiliate member institutions to establish collaborative Micro-Degree Programmes, Diploma programmes, Bachelor’s Degree Programmes and Postgraduate Programmes that leverage on the expertise, resources, faculty, and overall programme governance, and curriculum of AUUI and its Network of Accredited Partner Universities. These courses could cover a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to Leadership, Entrepreneurship Education, Industrial Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Compliance Training. The curriculums and structure of these academic programmes will comply with the national accreditation standards of Party A and the GAFM - International Board of Standards thereby allowing for practical training, in addition to the traditional modus operandi. Provided that the cost of this initiative will be extensively discussed and agreed upon between AUU International and the Accredited institution before the commencement of the programme.
9. For transfer credit applications, the curriculums of the Collaborative Courses will be reviewed and revised accordingly to ensure that they comply with national accreditation standards and the IBS International Board of Standards - GAFM Global Academy of Finance and Management ®, AAPM AMERICAN Academy of Project Management ®, The Advisory Board and the Standards Accreditation Council. The transfer credit option can be activated by AUUI affiliate members subject to the applicable fees as documented below.
Financial Obligations:
The application fee is 100 dollars for basic membership, 150 dollars for standard membership and 200 dollars for premium membership. Once the review process is successful, you will be required to pay the yearly membership fee where applicable. We have the Basic Category, Standard Category and Premium Category of Membership. Basic Category is 250 dollars. Standard Category is 500 dollars while premium category is 1000 dollars. You will also be required to renew your membership yearly by paying the renewal fee. You are required to comply with the terms and conditions of the AUUI affiliate membership and abide by the highest standards of quality assurance.
Please note that payment of 100 dollars for the application fee should be made to the AUUI Distance Learning Centre in Sierra Leone managed by Professor Paul Allieu Kamara. Once payment has been made, you are required to provide us with a receipt of payment for processing and documentation. However, the affiliate membership fee and transfer credit application fee should be made via transfer through your traditional bank using PAPSS (Pan-African Payment and Settlement System) or through BnB (an international banking app) or through WorldRemit or other reliable apps allowing for quick transfers) to the AUUI Head Office in Nigeria as follows:

For transfer credit applications, AUU International will receive USD $600 (per Masters graduate student) upon completion of the Masters degree programme and USD $900 (per Postgraduate/Doctorate Degrees student) upon completion of the Postgraduate/Doctorate degree programme as Certificate and Transcript fees. The amount of $1200 will be received for Undergraduate/Bachelor's Degrees as Certificate and Transcript fees. A separate fee of USD $400 is meant to be paid for the optional GAFM top up Certificate. The fees mentioned do not include shipping cost. Students who want the physical Certificates will have to pay the shipping and processing charges. Please note that the AUUI Governing Council may decide to provide discounted prices for the Certificate and Transcript fees where a large number of your students are applying for the transfer credit process at an academic year. The actual discount will be decided by the AUUI Governing Council.
