Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme Esq., LLB, BL, LLM, JD, HC, PhD, DProfQAHE, ICA, CAMC, CCO, CPRM, CRA, CFIP, FGAFM, FCACC, FERP, FIMC, HON. FQAHE is the Director of Academics and International Relations, and Chairperson of the Academic Board of AUU International, statutorily appointed by the AUU International Charter. In addition, Professor Esoimeme holds the position of Dean of the Faculty of Social Science by virtue of the University's International Charter.
Professor Esoimeme is a Professor of Business Law and Ethics at Rudolph Kwanue University (Liberia), African Union University, International (AUU International), James Hope University (Nigeria), Daaru Salaam University, Somalia, Hamar University, Somalia and Kennedy University of Baptist (USA). Prof. Esoimeme is also concurrently the Founder and Managing Partner of E-Four and AAF, an Accredited Training Partner at the Global Academy of Finance and Management (USA) and the Editor in Chief of DSC Publications Ltd. (Nigeria). His area of specialism and expertise is in countering financial crime. This is categorized into regulatory law, substantive law, and professional compliance guidance in terms of strategic management of financial crime risks and vulnerabilities.
Prof. Esoimeme’s skill and knowledge in the fields of Commercial Law, Public Law and Financial Crime Compliance are drawn from his many years of experience as a researcher, consultant, lecturer, trainer and Professor in law and criminal justice. So far, Prof. Esoimeme has authored more than 80 publications, including twelve books on financial crime compliance while his research on corruption and anti-corruption has been featured on Harvard Law School's bibliography on corruption and anti-corruption. Prof. Esoimeme’s second book titled "The Risk-Based Approach to Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing" was rated as the #5 best money laundering book of all time by Financial Expert in its 2021 refresh of the rankings while Ehi’s fifth book “Balancing Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing Requirements and Financial Inclusion” was named one of the best Banks books of all time by BookAuthority. On the 3rd of September, 2024, Prof. Esoimeme’s Research Items on Financial Crime Compliance reached a new Milestone of 40,000 reads on ResearchGate. On May 31, 2025, Prof. Esoimeme received the Best Publisher Award 2025 from Rudolph Kwanue University College for his unwavering commitment to academic excellence and research. As Editor in Chief of DSC Publications, Prof. Esoimeme successfully completed three major projects for the firm. The first project SASEGBON ON ELECTION PETITIONS was published in 13 volumes while the second project SASEGBON’S JUDICIAL DICTIONARY OF NIGERIAN LAW (SJD) (A Comprehensive Index of the Words and Phrases and the Case Law and Statutes ON NIGERIAN LAW) was published in seven volumes. The third project SASEGBON’S LAWS OF NIGERIA (a complete statement of the entire body of Nigerian laws) was recently finalized by Prof. Esoimeme and published in year 2025 in 38 volumes by DSC Publications Online and VLex Nigeria.
Prof. Esoimeme received a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Lagos and holds a master’s degree in International Commercial Law with specialization in international banking law and anti-money laundering compliance from Cardiff University. Prof. Esoimeme holds the U.S. equivalent of a Juris Doctor in International Law and two PhD Degrees in International Public Law. He was admitted to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2010.
Prof. Esoimeme is an academic board member of Daaru Salaam University, a fellow of the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals Inc., USA., a fellow of the Global Academy of Finance and Management, a Lifetime Honorary fellow of the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-tertiary and Higher Education, Honorary fellow in Financial Crime Compliance and Effective Leadership in Africa at the Mayo College of Medical Laboratory and Technology, a fellow of the Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals, a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Prof. Esoimeme currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board/Editorial Board of the Journal of Economic Criminology, Elsevier; Journal Corruptio, Universitas Lampung (Indonesia); the Journal of Blockchain & Cryptocurrency publication, IFSA Publishing, S.L. (Barcelona, Spain); the Lagos Bar Journal, Nigerian Bar Association (Nigeria); and reviews manuscripts for several international journals, including Business Ethics Quarterly Journal (Cambridge University Press), Cogent Social Sciences Journal (Taylor and Francis) and Padjadjaran Journal of Law (Faculty of Law, Universitas Padjadjaran).
In 2021, Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme became a well-recognized community leader when he formed the Concerned Residents of Surulere Advocacy Group to advocate against electricity fraud which culminates into high estimated electricity bills and the shortage of Prepaid meters. The movement has been successful in creating awareness of the rights of the people to dispute their electricity bills and apply for prepaid meters. The movement has also been successful in educating the general public on the platform set up to help Surulere Residents contest their Bills. The platform collates the relevant information to help Surulere Residents contest their high estimated bills on their behalf through legal complaints and petitions. Once the Bills are contested through the Pressure Group Platform, the account is placed on open reconciliation. This platform is supported by the non-profit organization of Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme (Ehi Choya Moria Foundation) and the
law firm of Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme (E-Four and AAF) which provides probono legal services to Surulere Residents with estimated billing issues and prepaid meters. The latest Petition which received more than 3000 signatures from Surulere Residents and filed by Barrister Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme with the Federal Ministry of Power has achieved the desired results. Power Supply has since improved and Prepaid Meters are now issued within a reasonable time. The movement has seen more than 500 high estimated billing accounts receive credit adjustment. This movement was inspired by the will and desire of Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme to fight electricity fraud. Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme is a Financial Crimes Compliance Consultant with more than a decade of research and practical experience.
Prof. Esoimeme has received numerous awards. In 2023, Prof. Esoimeme received the Doctorate in Economics, Banking and Finance (Honoris Causa), Doctorate in International Relations (Honoris Causa) and Certificate of Membership of Board of Trusteeship from Institut Universitare Du Benin (IUB) University, and a special award of recognition from the Nigeria Police Force, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Area C Command in recognition of his selfless service to humanity, rare display of love to the Nigerian Police and Philanthropic Dispositions.
Prof. Esoimeme has also received other awards. On 11 May 2022, Prof. Esoimeme received the Honorary Doctorate Degree in Financial Crimes jointly issued by American University of Business & Social Sciences and the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE). On July 4, 2022, Prof. Esoimeme obtained the Distinguished Professorship Award in Financial Crimes Compliance jointly awarded by American University of Business & Social Sciences and the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE).
